- Architraves are ornate fittings that are usually applied around doors and windows in interior designs. In landscape gardening architraves can be used as a decorative flourish to add to pillars.
- Baroque is a design style that is popular with landscape garden designs. Baroque inspired landscape garden designs commonly feature a generous use of curves.
- Cascade is a style of water feature that compliments many gardens. Water flows form the source over a series of rocks or ledges to create a gently ascending flow of water.
- Decking is raised wooden flooring that is added to garden designs to create pathways and elevated sections.
- Eye Catchers are features that are added to gardens to draw attention to a distant view outside of the garden. Popular designs include faux ruins which are usually positioned above the rest of the garden to draw the viewers focus into the distance.
- Folly is the name given to a structure placed in a garden purely for visual effect.
- Gazebos are small buildings added to gardens. Gazebos are usually positioned to provide a good view of the surrounding area.
- Hardstanding is the name given to a strengthened area of tarmac or block paving that is designed to withstand the weight of cars and vehicles.

- Knot is the name given to small plots or flowerbeds that feature arrangements of flowers arranged into a decorative shape or pattern.
- Moon Gates are circular holes that are cut into garden walls to allow more light to flow into a garden.
- Orangeries are structures that are used to keep orange trees warm and sheltered during winter.
- Palisade is a form of fencing that is designed to give gardens more privacy whilst also serving as a wind block.
- Rills are drains which are used to flow water to or away from water features in gardens.
- Stroll Gardens are a Japanese design of garden which feature a path leading through the entire garden. As visitors stroll along the path they can enjoy different views along the way.
- Topiary is the art of clipping and cutting hedges and shrubbery into geometric patterns and animal shapes.
- Viburnums are a type of medium sized, evergreen shrub which are used to bring variety to a garden design.
- Water Feature is the name given to a decorative fixture of a garden which features running water. Water features include waterfalls and fountains and are renowned for their relaxing properties.
