Patio and Paving Maintenance

One of the most important parts of maintenance for your driveway or patio is that you keep it clean and free of debris. When cleaning your drive or patio it gives you the perfect opportunity to check over for things such as cracks or holes, if you come across anything like this they need to be filled as soon as possible. This is because if the paving becomes cracked it can cause a health hazard but can also mean the damage can spread if water and dirt gets under the paving.

How to Clean Your Driveway?

The methods you can use for the cleaning of your drive will differ depending on the material your driveway is made of. For example if you have a particularly hardwearing drive you may be best using something such as a power washer to remove any debris or grease that may have built up on the surface. For driveways that have sand finishing between the paving blocks you may need to enquire as to whether the power washer is suitable for use with your drive. If it is possible to use a power washer then they work great at removing moss and any build up of dirt you may have between blocks.

Driveway and Patio Cleaning Equipment

The method and equipment you use for cleaning your driveway or patio depends entirely on your preference. There are plenty of power washers and other electrical cleaners that can clean your drive or paving quickly and easily, although you could always use the old method of a bucket, scrubbing brush and a lot of elbow grease.

Cleaning your drive and paving work not only helps maintain it preventing it from becoming damaged it also makes your house look cleaner on first impressions. Making sure any paving work is well maintained and clean can also be helpful when it comes to the selling of your home, as it gives it good kerb appeal.
